Lyonshall In Bloom has been awarded a Silver-Gilt Award in the Heart of England In Bloom Competition. This is the second highest award that can be given, only one notch down from a Gold award, and is a tremendous achievement in the first year of entering the competition.
This award was given at an award ceremony on 12th September at Drayton Manor, and the judges comments drew attention to:- The colourful floral displays at entrances to the village and around the bus shelter; the generally high standard of residents’ front gardens; the many floral planters to the frontage of The Royal George, a closed pub; the licensed patch of grassland designed and landscaped as a wild flower garden with children’s planting area; the discovery of footpaths which were once overgrown with weeds and grass; and getting the community to support through volunteer hours and sponsorship in kind from local businesses.
The silver-gilt award is given to an entrant who has met the judging criteria and objectives with a very high standard throughout, and has in one or more areas been exceptionally thorough. The award is considered to be a potential Gold Award winner in the future.
We are very proud to say that Pembridge village achieved GOLD AWARD & VILLAGE CATEGORY WINNER at the Britain in Bloom National Awards.
The Pride in Pembridge group worked incredibly hard around the village.
