The Oaks is a beautiful detached country house, sleeping ten, situated in the small rural hamlet of Inwood, two miles from the delightful market town of Church Stretton. The welcoming property is nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the National Trust’s Long Mynd Estate directly outside the front gate. In a tranquil position between the beautiful Long Mynd Hills to the west and the Caradoc and Lawley Hills to the east, the property enjoys stunning views over the surrounding South Shropshire hills.

This spacious and comfortable house offers modern luxury in the heart of the countryside and is elegantly furnished throughout with airy living spaces. It benefits from five spacious bedrooms, three of which are en suite and one with an additional day bed. The delightful well equipped kitchen leads to a dining room with stunning countryside views and there are two further ground floor living rooms and an upstairs games room. Outside, the lovely enclosed garden of approximately two acres has two large sunny stone patios facing west and south with teak outdoor furniture, a barbecue and amazing views over the Shropshire hills. This provides the perfect social spot for alfresco dining, planning the day’s activities or simply relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.

The Long Mynd and Stretton Hills provide excellent walking, strolling and bird watching for everybody what ever the time of year. From gentle walks in the valleys besides the streams to more strenuous hikes for the more serious rambler or cyclists. Numerous walks and mountain bike rides start from the front gate, which leads directly onto Long Mynd’s 5,000 acres of heather-covered Moorland owned by the National Trust.

Church Stretton, two miles away at the heart of the Long Mynd, is set amid striking scenery and is often described as “Little Switzerland”. It boasts a variety of tea rooms, pubs, specialist shops, a large antique centre and a challenging golf course on the top of the Long Mynd. Local country pubs in the surrounding villages also provide excellent bar and evening meals.

The Oaks is not only a haven for walkers but is also the ideal spot for exploring Shropshire. Its central position makes it within easy reach of the historic towns of gastronomic Ludlow, Medieval Shrewsbury, Ironbridge with it famous Ironbridge Gorge Museums, Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth with the famous Severn Valley railway. Not forgetting the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, and a host of National Trust and English Heritage properties including Attingham House and Park and Stokesay Castle.
